About the Role

We are looking for an Agency Manager for HDFC ERGO Health Insurance in Berhampur. This role focuses on growing the agency distribution channel by recruiting, activating, and supporting insurance agents and advisors. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in insurance sales, agency development, or financial services sales, with a strong focus on relationship building and business growth.

Employment: Full Time
Work mode: Work from Office, with regular local travel for agent meetings and business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, recruit, and onboard insurance agents and advisors in Berhampur and the assigned territory, following company processes.
• Support agents in completing applicable training, documentation, and regulatory requirements before commencing sales activities.
• Activate newly onboarded agents and coach them on health insurance products, customer needs assessment, and effective sales practices.
• Achieve assigned premium, policy issuance, agent activation, and renewal targets.
• Conduct regular agent meetings, joint customer visits, and local business development activities to build a healthy sales pipeline.
• Explain policy benefits, exclusions, waiting periods, and coverage terms accurately, and encourage suitable, needs-based recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal teams on proposals, underwriting queries, policy issuance, and customer service requests.
• Track agent productivity, sales conversions, and renewal performance using CRM tools and periodic reports.
• Ensure adherence to applicable IRDAI guidelines, company policies, customer data protection requirements, and ethical selling standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
• 1–2 years of experience in insurance sales, agency channel development, or related financial services sales.
• Ability to recruit, motivate, and maintain productive relationships with agents and advisors.
• Understanding of health insurance fundamentals, including premiums, coverage, exclusions, waiting periods, and renewals.
• Strong communication, negotiation, customer relationship management, and follow-up skills.
• Target-oriented approach with good planning, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
• Working knowledge of CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, and sales reporting.
• Willingness to undertake regular local travel for agent engagement and customer meetings.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in health or general insurance agency sales.
• An established network of prospective agents or business contacts in Berhampur.
• Ability to communicate in Odia and other languages commonly used by local customers.
• Experience conducting product training, joint sales calls, or advisor engagement sessions.
• Relevant insurance sales training or certifications.

• Indicative annual fixed salary: ₹3,00,000–₹4,50,000, depending on experience and interview assessment; final compensation is subject to employer confirmation.
