Job Description: College Administrator cum Counselor

Position Overview

The College Administrator cum Counselor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the institution while providing effective counseling to students regarding admissions, courses, and career paths. This dual role combines administrative management with student guidance to ensure a seamless and productive environment for students, staff and management.


Key Responsibilities

Administrative Duties

  1. Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily administrative tasks, ensuring smooth functioning of college activities.
    • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and departments for efficient workflow.
  2. Admissions and Enrollment:
    • Manage the admissions process, including handling inquiries, applications, and documentation.
    • Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with regulations.
  3. Event Coordination:
    • Organize college events, such as orientation programs, workshops, and extracurricular activities.
    • Coordinate with external stakeholders and vendors for events or partnerships.
  4. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and present periodic reports on student enrollment, performance, and administrative matters.
    • Ensure proper documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.

Counselling Responsibilities

  1. Student Guidance:
    • Counsel prospective and existing students about course offerings, career opportunities, and college facilities.
    • Assist students in making informed decisions about their educational and professional goals.

 

 

  1. Parent and Stakeholder Interaction:
    • Engage with parents and guardians to address queries regarding admissions and student performance.
    • Provide timely updates on institutional developments.
  2. Conflict Resolution:
    • Address student grievances and mediate conflicts between students, faculty, or staff as required.
  3. Career Planning:
    • Guide students about internships, job placements, and further studies.
    • Collaborate with the placement cell for student opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • Experience:
    • 1–2 years of experience in educational administration or counseling.
    • Familiarity with academic processes and student management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Knowledge of admission processes and academic counseling.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and administrative software.
